"Apply Sunnies to everything" by Sunnies Studios |
Hangover from a vacation is one of the
worst feelings ever, I usually feel utterly depressed every time I got home
from a vacation—or even before I get into one, anxiety always get the best of
me—my mom won't even be surprised of how unresponsive I am when she tries to
coax me into doing something; and it has become tradition for her to let me be
on the first three days of my post-vacation blues.
It has been roughly two weeks since that SOCSARGEN (the acronym for the 3 provinces: South Cotabato, Sarangani, and General Santos) trip and all that is left to do right now—in order to maximize words here in this post—is to re-encounter the memories made in those three less-traveled by provinces of Mindanao. My memory always takes me back to the biggest regret I came across with in our GenSan escapade—the name of our group chat in Facebook—which is the time when I purposely left my camera in our accommodation because of it: one, being heavy and two, expecting that we were just gonna have dinner and not saunter around their vast shipyard (which was very aesthetic and would be an ideal place for a next photo shoot).

I was ecstatic when I found out we were gonna visit our host's shipyard; I literally went from Ugly Betty to Paris Hilton faster than the speed of light and don on my best navy-inspired accouterments. The moment we arrived on the shipyard, I was already cursing myself in my mind of how stupid I was of not bringing my camera; the place was that very aesthetic you guys—to some people it might be just a shipyard but to me it was in one of those Vogue magazine covers, you don't know the internal struggles I had when we visited that place, I was on the verge of tears and in going insane—my friends can testify to that—for just one stupid thing: not bringing my camera.

I thought I wasn't going to see that place
again but God was always by my side and granted me a second chance to shoot in
there the day after; so when tomorrow came--I was already up and about wearing
the same clothes I have worn the first time I got there. I have learned this a
long time but yet it is another lesson learned: bring your camera anywhere you
go.
